School's Out for the Summer

School is over! and hard-working Stephen, irrational Katie, and squirmy baby are still alive and kickin'! I'm pretty sure I confused my exercise science teacher when I gave my final presentation in class. He's all about being healthy and looking in shape. He told our class he's not afraid to call people out for being fat. I was hoping he'd say something to me ;) I saw him look at my belly a few times while I was giving my presentation, and the best part is that I'm pretty sure he didn't see my wedding rings. Poor fella, he was so confused as to whether I had a beer gut or got knocked up out of wedlock! Oh well, I'm not too worried about it now seeing I got a B and won't be seeing him again.
This is what my belly looked like during my finals....I can see why he looked confused after seeing me up close.
26 weeks

Baby has been kicking since March actually, but now I can feel him move a lot more. Stephen got to feel him move a few weeks ago for the first time and now I sometimes catch him staring at my stomach trying to see it move. I think we are relieved that summer is here now so we can focus our time on work and getting ready to be parents. Who likes school anyway, right? But I know I like getting that paycheck after two 40 hour work weeks!

Well, I love studying to be a teacher. It sounds so dorky but my goodness I know that's what God wants me to do. However, since I'm still at Liberty after 5 years, they want to take my financial aid away. They don't care if it's because I'm getting a second degree. So, I'm hoping I can somehow manage to finish my school there and not go into debt because I can't imagine transferring to another university or dropping out all together. I love the teachers I have and my classmates. I also believe this program is one of the best physical education programs offered in the country. I guess even when school is over for the semester, your own worries about your schooling never seem to go away until you are actually done forever.
Our elementary methods class....

.....who were awesome and a lot of fun. Everyone got to teach about 4 times.

Even though I'm not done completely with school, my friend Michelle is finally done. We met playing club lacrosse in the Fall of 2008. I remember her being very loud and thinking, 'Oh, dear, this is going to be an interesting season'. I was so right. We had the best time that semester and the following semester. We were practically two peas in a pod. Of course, we still had a lot of growing up to do, but seeing where we both are now, I can say we've definitely grown up into godly young women. I sure will miss that girl though. Good thing she lives only one state north of Virginia ;)

Speaking of lacrosse, this semester I had the privilege to help coach the E.C. Glass girls varsity lacrosse team. I had no idea how much fun I would have. I started in March because there was a mix-up that kept me from starting earlier. My friend, old roommate, and old lacrosse teammate Karen was the head coach and she was awesome. All of the girls loved her and enjoyed lacrosse practice and games. I enjoyed getting to know them a little better and helping them with their skills too. They were awesome high school girls and I'm really hoping that I can help them next year in their lacrosse season. We lost our final game before regionals 11-12 in overtime....next year, there's no doubt in mind we can make it to regionals and even win our district before that. They were so sweet to me (seeing that I was obviously pregnant). They always made sure that I was safe while they were practicing. I think they were a little surprised though when I did shuttles with them once and then when Karen and I teamed up to play them in the game 'World Cup' and dominate. I hope next season comes fast because I really did not want the season to end.
Most of the team. Our game at Patrick Henry in Roanoke
